Off the coast of Arran in the Firth of Clyde, the island has a long sacred history with an ancient healing spring, the hermit-cave of a 6th Century monk, St Molaise, and evidence of a 13th Century Monastery. Celtic Christians sought the solitude of Holy Island to support their prayer and meditation, just as the Tibetan yogis did in the Himalayas. The powerful nature of these places becomes charged with the energy of spiritual practice which can touch the heart and inspire the mind.
There is no doubt about it, this place is special and our retreats here are uniquely peaceful. Although the journey is a little more challenging for those of us who live south of the border, it is well worth the trip for the feeling of peace and solitude this place offers, can’t be found in many places. We can provide lots of advice on travel.
We hold our 6 night Tai Chi, meditation and Yoga retreat here. This is a genuine retreat. Tai Chi and Yoga available through the day. Free time to devote to your own practice. Buddhist meditation in the late afternoon focusing on mindfulness of breathing (Anapanasati) and then moving gently into Vipassana (insight) meditation.
Holistic treatments (Indian head massage and Hopi ear candling) will also be available.
