Retreat is a real opportunity to let go. When we go on retreat we step out of our busy lives, giving ourselves the opportunity to practise. To make sure we gain the benefit of retreat we have to go into it with the attitude of leaving behind our worries, plans, expectations, desires and aspirations. to give ourselves an ’empty cup’.Letting Go Retreats can be different lengths of time. We can certainly go on retreat for a weekend or a week. But we can also retreat for 30 minutes! When we practise we should go into it with the mind-set of retreat. Letting go of the noise and committing ourselves to our mindfulness practise.
